Dr. Shao Ling, President of Terminus Group, Listed in Research.com's 2025 Ranking of the World's Top Scientists

Recently, the globally renowned academic research platform Research.com published its 2025 "Top Scientists Worldwide" list. Dr. Shao Ling, President and Chief Scientist of Terminus Group, stood out among over 160,000 scholars globally for his outstanding contributions in computer science, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. He was ranked 133rd on the list of top global scientists. At the same time, Dr. Shao Ling was awarded the Research.com United Arab Emirates "Leader in Computer Science Award" for the fourth consecutive year.

The current year's list also includes renowned scholars such as Professor Xiao-Gang Wang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Qiang Yang from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Foreign Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Professor Hongjiang Zhang.

As a globally authoritative academic research institution, Research.com began publishing the "Top Scientists" series of lists in 2022, aiming to measure the research impact in various academic disciplines. The list is based on strict academic indicators, including the D-Index (Scientific H-Index), the number of citations, and the number of publications. The 2025 list covers 26 academic fields and includes 166,880 global scholars. Leader in the International AI Field

Dr. Shao Ling is an internationally recognized artificial intelligence scientist, an IEEE Fellow, an IAPR Fellow, a Fellow of the British Computer Society, and an IET Fellow. Since April 2022, he has served as President of Terminus Group, Group Chief Scientist, and Head of the AI Lab, comprehensively promoting the research, development, and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies across various product lines at Terminus Group.

Before joining Terminus Group, Dr. Shao Ling served as the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Scientist at the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) National AI Center. From 2018 to 2021, he was the founding CEO and Chief Scientist of the Inception Institute of Artificial Intelligence (IIAI) in the UAE. Additionally, he was the initiator and the first acting president of the world's first university dedicated to artificial intelligence, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).

According to Google Scholar statistics, Dr. Shao Ling's papers in multimodal AI and healthcare AI rank first globally in terms of citations. In the field of vision and language, his influence ranks second globally, while in generative AI, his research impact remains the highest in the UAE.

In April 2023, for his outstanding contributions to the field of artificial intelligence, Dr. Shao Ling was awarded the highest scientific honor in the UAE, the Mohamed bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence, becoming the first and only Chinese scientist to receive this honor.
